Who are the persons acting on behalf of IfHaS? The Initiative for Halle and the Saalkreis (IfHaS) e.V. was founded in January, 20th 2001 in an old pub close to the Handel House Museum. Its members are interested in Halle history - coming from Halle or having moved to Halle - and are faithful in the town´s future. IfHaS has 11 members and two curators, Prof. A. Tacke and Dr. K. Merkel. The chairman, Norbert Böhnke, originates from Aachen (born there 11/06/71), in the far West of Germany. He studied political sciences, history, art history and English literature in Gießen, Manchester and Halle (Saale). Since his Gießen studies he is interested in local history. For him research into a city´s history has a huge advantage: Effects of historic developments can be studied close to men and their every day surroundings. Here freedom and frontiers to freedom of human action can be explained by comparison to life in the 21st century. Böhnke is assistant to a member of the regional parliament. N. Böhnke is member of: Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft e.V.; Deutsche Gesellschaft in Sachsen-Anhalt e.V.; Gesellschaft der Freunde des Dessau-Wörlitzer Gartenreiches e.V.; Kuratorium Altes Rathaus Halle (Saale) e.V.; Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen/Westpreußen; Verein der Freunde und Förderer des Stadtmuseums Halle e.V.; Kuratorium 1200 Jahre Halle an der Saale; Spiele 2002 mit uns - Halle spielt mit The co-chairman, Heiko Alder (born in Halle (Saale) 22/01/75), studies economics and engineering in Halle and Merseburg. |
